Update
It has been many many months since we have written anything on our blog. I am just not that into anymore. Hard to make it part of the routine. I thought I would post an update on what has been happening.
Luke turned 2 in January. He is a sweet little boy and loves airplanes, trucks, and all heavy equipment. He calls them "'go-gos"". If we pass one while on a walk or in the car he says "my drive it!"
Anna has 2 months left in Pre-K and then it is off to Kindergarten. She loves to play with the boys and is a bit of a tom boy herself. She is learned how to ride a 2 wheel bike last summer right after her 4 year old birthday. She can now ride her bike almost 2 miles around the park.
The big news is we are adding two more family members this summer. We are expecting twin girls in August. We are mini-van shopping and trying to organize a little bit before the chaos begins. Anna and Luke are both super excited and Anna has had fun trying to come up with names. She wants to name one of the girls after our neighbors dog...don't think that will happen.
Matt is working hard! He is passionate about what he does and makes a difference in kid's lives. I am trying to stay in shape this pregnancy because I know I will be carrying 2 infant carriers soon.

Head banging
Shortly after Luke learned to walk he learned to dance. He is a head banger! He hears music and he starts to sway his head from side to side. If he wants us to turn music on he will start to shake his head...I guess that is sign language for turn on radio. He seemed so interested in music I thought I would sign him up for a little baby music class to see if he liked it. He wasn't so interested in the classical music and music class didn't last. I think he prefers my hip hop tunes, but here is a video of the kids dancing to the piano "I've been working on the railroad".
Spring Snow
Luke's 1st Birthday
Luke turned 1 almost 6 mos ago! I have been a little lazy about updating the blog with pictures. Last thing I want to do when I have "free" time is sit on the computer, but I have a goal to get organized and up to date. I think mySpring cleaning is Summer cleaning. I hope to update our blog over the next weeks with stuff from the past 6 mos....here is a start. These pictures are from Jan 31, 2009. Luke had a little birthday party with some friends at the house.

snow in the mts
We spent a long weekend in a cabin up in the mts. Anna had her first ski lesson, lots of hot chocolate, sledding, feeding animals, "smoring", sleigh rides, played games, made up stories. Luke was a little unsure about his snow suit, but once bundled in he was pretty content. The place we went is called the Devil's Thumb Ranch. Amazing! http://www.devilsthumbranch.com/

Christmas 2008
It was a very Merry Christmas this year! We were fortunate that we were able to spend time with both sides of the family. We went to Oklahoma City Dec 22 - 24 and then the Haemer's came to Denver on Christmas day. Our plane travels were an adventure this year. We completely underestimated the amount of time it would take to drive to the airport, park, check bags, take 2 kids through security, and catch the train to terminal C. I had just travelled a week prior and had no problems (no lines!). But the Monday before Christmas the lines were so long I really didn't think we were going to make our flight. I begged the people at Southwest to let us cut in line because we were late and travelling with 2 small children. They didn't feel sorry for us and just told us we should have arrived to the airport 2 hours before our flight (not 30 minutes). When we arrived at security the line was so long we didn't know what we were going to do. I begged a guy at TSA and told him our situation. He went and chatted with his supervisor and let us go to the front of the line. After security we had about 15 minutes to get our gate before departure. Somehow we made it!
We spent Christmas morning at our house in Denver. It was really a special time to be at home. Ever since Anna was born we had travelled on Christmas day. It was so fun to see her eyes when she came down the stairs and saw her presents from Santa. Luke was excited too. He was so excited that he had to take a nap before he could finish unwrapping his gifts. Anna woke up on Christmas morning and put on her Cinderella dress and fairy wings...a must for opening gifts. I think her favorite gift was the candy cane in her stocking. Luke really liked playing with the ribbon and paper.
